So we've recently had alot of dry spells with shards, at the same time alot of people have been collecting gear for off-specs. Unfortunately last night I saw that that gear is basically being wasted. From now on if your interested in collecting gear for an offspec you need to prove to me, veh or truce that you have a raid ready (enchanted/gemmed etc) set of the gear and the skill to use it. In addition it either needs to be your offspec or you need to be willing to spec into it (AND HAVE THE RIGHT GLYPHS READY) at a moments notice. This applies to 10 and 25 man raids.
On the same note- alts must also preform properly and be acceptably geared for raids. -

Wrath of the Lich King, and the future of Blood Sworn
A new expansion is upon us and that means changes. It’s inevitable. New class, new content, ten man raid progression, in addition to the 25 man progression. The Burning Crusade release showed me how guilds fall into turmoil when an expansion is released. People leave to start /join guilds intent on working on 10 man content exclusively, as has already happened for some people. Others see this as a time to quit/transfer a conclusion to their chapter of wow – which has also been the decision of some people. Others may also re-evaluate their focus in the game, deciding to raid more hard core or to pvp exclusively and join guilds with a similar focus. Regardless of peoples reasons, and I don’t fault them in them as each of us plays for our own goals it’s very common for guilds to lose members at times like this. Sometimes losing enough to fall apart completely.
Unlike those guilds however Blood Sworn will not be disbanding. There will definitely be some changes however:
To begin with we will not be raiding 25 man content. At least not right away. For the first while our focus will be shifting to 10 man progression (more on that further down)
Until we start working on progression 25 man raiding we will become more casual (with the exception of the 10 man groups outlined further below) however when we start 25 mans once more if attendance becomes poor I will institute mandatory raid attendance once more and gkick those that aren’t up to par.
New leadership structure/guild rankings. – This hasn’t fully been developed but its become apparent I can’t keep micro-managing as much of the guild as I currently do. As such with the exception of myself and melch everyone is going to be demoted to what is currently defender if above that. This is in no way meant as a slight or an insult to anybody and for some I expect it may be a blessing in disguise. As for the new structure I will be posting officer positions and look over applications for them in the near future. Currently I have a few positions in mind to lighten my personal load. Some examples of positions I will be looking for are a guild treasurer (someone to handle the gbank), guild recruiter (someone to take applicants through heroics and decide if they belong in Blood Sworn), guild mediator/uregistered therapist, role leaders (caster/melee/healer/tank) and when we begin 25 man content again a loot/attendance tracker and moderator(someone to handle the loot lists, track attendance/drops and has a major voice in loot distribution), and Raid moderator(someone to make sure people are properly buffed/specced in 25 man raids). In addition to this I will be looking for raid leaders. All in all I hope to keep a friendly atmosphere on the surface, but to have a smoother running guild in the background.
10 man raiding
Finally the subject people have been waiting for.
Ideally shortly after wrath I’d like us to have 2-3 different 10 man raid groups running. However the number of groups will be dependant on the number of reliable raid leaders. So lets start there.
I am accepting applications for raid leaders:
I need 1-2 self motivated individuals to run 10 man raid groups at level 80. You must be willing to research fights in advance, understand raid synergies/class abilities, and work well as a team. Anyone that’s interested let me know via wowstead mail and I will be more than happy to get you to lead an interview raid.
Benefits of being a raid leader:
-Access to the usually silent officer chat (except during raids when its very active)
-Access to the raiding tab of the guild bank
Now for the 10 man raids themselves:
Each raid leader is going to have different desires and needs- however I will be excepting applications to my raid group effective immediately (also via wowstead mail). However before you apply let me state my expectations and goals.
Goals:
I want to be raiding nax by November 24. I want nax cleared no later than December 2. By December 9 I want nax to be a 1 day raid. And for us to be working on the next 10 man. In order to achieve this goal I want 10 steady people. That will power level to 80 and gear up in 5 mans and heroics/crafting ASAP.
2 tanks
2 healers
1 dps that can offtank/respect to tank
1 dps that can offheal/respect for heals
4 Dps
I will be building my raid from applicants with raid synergy in mind.
Expectations:
We will raid 3 days a week, until we have the highest level 10 man available on farm status. Tentative days are currently wed/thurs/friday from 3 server time until 7 server time.
PVE SPECS- with appropriate buffs/consumables
95% attendance- If you can’t make a raid find a replacement and make sure your replacement is viable. If you will not be able to raid with us for an extended period of time please be considerate and give us advance warning to find a replacement, or find a temp one for yourself.
KNOW YOUR CLASS – I can’t emphasis this enough you must know your class, know a proper rotation research and use the best specs and know what gear is appropriate for you. I will not be answering questions like “ why should I use curse of elements when agony adds damage” or “Is this an upgrade for me”.
MATURITY- I plan on running 10 mans with a basic if its an upgrade Need for main spec, Greed for Off spec loot system, with temp replacements rolling greed for main spec only. So don’t Need on side grades, Know your loot in advance and talk to the other classes that may also need it- This is a team effort here.
KNOW YOUR LOOT- I expect everyone to have looked over the loot in advance and know what they need, make your own wish list etc if need be. Once a boss is dead I’m going to chain pull to the next.
DON’T BE A SCRUB- I plan on explaining the boss fight on our first try and on any variations after that. That’s it. I expect everyone to remember the fucking strategy from week to week. And if you forget about the poison clouds etc and die to them don’t wuss out and state it was lag or my dog ate the interwebs etc just say “I fucked up it won’t happen again, I’m sorry” and MAKE SURE IT DOESN’T HAPPEN AGAIN.
Still Interested? Send me a wowstead mail stating what class/specs you’re interested on applying with if you still want to be a part of my raid.
For people that aren’t accepted I hope to have more raid leaders soon who will run on different days with a more casual schedule and expectations.
